The Met Office is recruiting for 3, Software Engineer apprentices in Exeter.

As our Level 4 Software Engineer Apprenticeship, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Typical responsibilities would include:
Developing software for customer facing applications
Developing software to manipulate complex datasets
Developing scientific software applications and tools to help advance our weather and climate prediction capabilities
Providing support to scientific programmers and application developers
Learn about development from requirements through to delivery

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

Essential – Level 3 Qualification in a related subject (apprenticeship/A levels/BTEC etc) OR equivalent work experience – (successful completion of QA Aptitude test required if it’s non-standard entry – i.e. through work experience rather than STEM qualifications).
