Our Co-op is one of the world’s largest consumer co-operatives. Owned by millions of UK consumers, we have over 3,750 outlets and more than 65,000 colleagues spread across our core businesses; food retail, funeral care, legal services & insurance. With 144 years of incredible history, our business is well established but what makes us different is our clear purpose of championing a better way of doing business for you and your communities.
Over time we have built up a true sense of community spirit throughout the UK by giving back to our communities. This continues success could only be achieved by employing the right people to help grow the business and their communities, and importantly themselves.
With opportunities across our business in stores, funeral homes and our offices there’s an apprenticeship or role for everyone here at the Co-op. We’re looking for colleagues with the right skills, a real desire to develop and importantly a passion for their communities. Add in an understanding of what great customer service looks like and it’s the recipe for success.
If you have all of these and more, take a look at all we can offer you to share in our success as a business and truly give back to your community.

HS2 will be the new high speed backbone of our rail network connecting the city centres of Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London. Once fully completed, we will have built 345 miles of new high speed track and when fully operational, up to 48 HS2 trains with up to 1,100 seats each will be running every hour on the UK’s rail network. This is a huge undertaking; Britain’s first new intercity railway north of London in 100 years and Europe’s largest infrastructure project.
HS2 will build a workforce which will not only be able to deliver the project, but future infrastructure programmes too. This skills legacy will create a new industry for Britain to export abroad. At peak construction, 30,000 people, including 2,000 apprentices will be designing and building HS2.
